Shimmer formed in 2003, with Dave on Guitar and Vocals, Rach and Martina on Vocals, and Greg on piano. Things sounded great, and they played a few gigs which were well received. In 2004, Greg left to work in the UK, and Nick joined the band on keys. This has been the line-up ever since.


Dave, Martina and Rach have been singing together for over 10 years, beginning in high-school and even before. As a most-recently-joined member, Nick contributes a wealth of skills and experience as a pianist and vocalist, with a musical versatility that expands the group's range of styles. Speaking of a range of styles, Shimmer have played everything from swing-jazz parties, to all out rockin' concerts, to light jazz before wedding ceremonies. They've played with just voice and acoustic guitar, and with drums bass and a horn section.


To keep it fresh, Shimmer bring in new songs almost every week. They also bring in other great musicians, most often percussion, to add a new dimension to the sound.
