Music Sample - Maros Maros Music Sample - Moinesti Music Sample - Orea Poune Goyim covers a range of Gypsy and Klezmer styles (comprising dance and celebration music) from across eastern Europe and the middle east, creating a touch of that burlesque cabaret Balkans brass band appeal, all the while getting an infectious high energy village street sound found among the Gypsy's. Esther's use of intricate and frantic rhythms on the fiddle create a sense of urgency while making full use of the catchy melodies and tones. Her vocals are authentic, rich and strong. Paul's percussive attack and gypsy slap technique makes full use of his instrument and creates a solid back drop. Goyim started working as a duo august 2006 as continuation of the disbanded Klezmer outfit “The Promised Band”. Due to the appeal and diversity of this act, they have been able to work with the likes of; •Current Residency's, Cherry Lounge, Budapest & Bohemia restaurants •S.A. Film opening act for short film night •Hobart's 2008 international busker's festival •Botanical gardens 150th celebrations •South Australian Art Gallery •Adelaide Fringe Festival @ Higher Ground •Red Poles cabaret evenings & Sunday afternoon shindigs •Australia day festival City of Onkaparinga •Corporate functions, weddings, birthdays, restaurants, pubs & clubs, festivals, plus street performing. Overall people enjoy this exciting & generally raucous style, most find it difficult to remain in their seats and in every performance you'll inevitably find some who can't and will dance regardless. Goyim's ever evolving and changing repertoire consists of around 50 songs plus improvisation which will keep people entertained for an evening or afternoon. |
