GLENDI BANDThe Glendi Band has been entertaining, predominantly Greek customers, for almost 20 years, ranging from performing at small party functions to large ball type functions and from all Greek functions to mixed nationality events.
The band has a vast amount of experience and offers a diverse and varied range of musical capability.
Lead Singer: Jim K
Jim has been entertaining at Greek functions and events for over 20 years. In this time, he has amassed an extensive repertoire that ranges from the old traditional songs to the current top 40 hits. His experience includes singing at nightclubs as well as performing at private functions, so his versatility on stage enables him to meet all challenges. Having been with the Glendi band since 2005 as the “front man”, Jim has added a richness to the band’s programme.
Bouzouki: Lakis E
Lakis, with his brother John, is the originator of the Glendi band. Lakis has been instrumental in building up the band to its current professional line-up. His desire to produce a quality product has meant that he has continuously looked to improve the band, both in choice of musicians as well as improving the band equipment which is critical to providing an excellent service. And when it comes to Lakis on bouzouki, customers are treated to precision and accurate playing so that Greek hits are replicated as per studio recordings.
Keyboards: Jack X
The newest acquisition to the Glendi band is the keyboard player Jack. Jack brings to the Glendi band a variety of style and material acquired through his history of entertaining at restaurants, nightclubs and supporting live professional acts from Greece (both modern and traditional acts). Having been a friend of the Glendi band members for many years, together with his solid keyboard accompaniments and, when required his inventive solos, his joining has provided an immediate impact.
Guitar: Spiro K
Spiro has been in the Greek scene for over 20 years and has been with the Glendi band for the last three years. His experience in previous bands and particularly in a varied amount of restaurants, allows him to understand what is required for a successful function. His skills extend beyond the Greek scene as he has brought to the band an extensive amount of English music ranging from Rock to Rock ’n Roll to Latin to Retro/Disco music. He also has a repertoire of Italian songs. This enables the band to provide a comprehensive mixed wedding service.
Drums: John E
John lays down the basis of the band’s vibrant rhythm section. His solid beat allows the rest of the band to excel. His knowledge of Greek and foreign material (English, Latin and Italian) allows him to be flexible in the choice of band material as well as taking a lead role in song routines and arrangements. The youngest member of the band, John strives to improve which has an engaging effect on the rest of the band.
