The Cremona String Quartet has performed at over 100 weddings, during either the ceremony, the reception, or both.
The Ceremony
The structure that has proved most popular to patrons in the past is as follows:
The Quartet performs background music of your choice (see repertoire list) for 10 to 15 minutes before the ceremony is scheduled to begin.
Three items are usually performed at the ceremony - during the bridal entrance, the signing of the register, and the recessional. However, you may want more or fewer items performed during the ceremony, which we are happy to do upon your request.
Directly after the wedding ceremony, there is the option of the Quartet playing further music if the guests are going to be mingling; this is more common for garden ceremonies than church ceremonies.
The Reception
The reception has a simpler structure. The musicians can play in two different formats:
Performing at the entrance of the reception venue while people arrive. This provides light pre-dinner music before a band takes over during dinner.
Performing throughout the reception, from pre-dinner drinks to dessert. The quartet can provide a range of musical styles to cater for your needs (see repertoire list). Again, the musicians aren't insistent upon playing in these formats; if you would prefer another structure we're happy to accommodate.
