Jazzed up funk classics, hip-hop inspired soul numbers and groove heavy motown anthems are complimented by the band’s uncompromising musicality and fun-loving sensibilities to create an urbane soundtrack you can still move to.

Eschewing the tired and predictable ‘cover band’ canon, Crazy 88 opt for a journey with ‘60s funk forebears such as James Brown through to funk’s contemporary avatars Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings while taking detours with Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan to include all your favourite groovin’ and soul driven pop songs.

All established musicians in genres including Latin, jazz, and of course funk, Crazy 88 is Salvatore Aidone on drums, Leonie O’Donnell on vocals, Olaf Scott playing keys, Joel Plymin on saxophone, Sam Parry with the trumpet, Brendan Tsui on bass and Andy McGarvie on guitar. Between them they have brought their suave soul and finessed funk to stages such as Manchester Lane, Bennett's Lane Jazz Club, the BMW edge and Federation Square.
