Carneval musicians are available in a number
of combinations:
Quartet
This dynamic traditional string quartet comprises of four experienced performers
playing two violins, a viola and a cello. The quartet has over 40 hours of
repertoire, which ranges from baroque and classical to the lively 50's and 60's
swing jazz style. With it's very full sound, the group is ideal as atmospheric
background music for large audiences.
The ensemble enjoys audience interaction and is happy to play requests if music
is available. While the quartet encourages bridal couples to choose music which
is special to them for their wedding service, they are also happy to assist with
any musical choices.
As well as providing background atmosphere the quartet regularly performs on the
concert stage. This can further enhance an elegant function by providing a
stylish interlude. Unless otherwise requested, the musicians appear in elegant
black.
Trio
The trio, two violins and a cello, performs a similar repertoire of background
classical music to that of the quartet. While the volume of repertoire is not as
great as that of the quartet, the trio is still able to perform many of the well
known classics. The trio can be a very good alternative to the quartet without
compromising elegance and style.
Duo
The intimate violin/cello duo performs atmospheric background classical music.
This ensemble plays many of the favorites from the baroque and classical eras
and is able to offer a change in pace with a small repertoire of jazz.
Both the solo violin and cello add understated elegance to any function. The
violinist is able to perform a repertoire of classics and jazz while wandering
through the audience serenading listeners. The cellist offers a sonorous and
rich musical experience performing a repertoire of largely classical music.
Gypsy Carneval
The gypsy trio captures attention with a combination of European folk tunes,
Latin American sounds and elements of jazz/swing. With its unique and
distinctive style, gypsy carneval released its first album in 2000. Gypsy
Carneval is able to perform as a violin duo and a violin/cello duo. the essence
of Hungarian folk music is obvious as the two Hungarian violinists wander
through the audience entertaining their listeners. The violin/cello duo, while
not mobile, creates a festive but relaxed mood and can relocate easily and
quickly.
