Alastair
Burns Al has
been performing throughout New Zealand and Melbourne for much of the last
decade.
Since 2000, he has played over 1000 covers and original gigs alongside some of
New Zealand finest musicians, including NZ music award winners Matt Langley,
Delgirl and Martin Phillips. His clients have included Price Waterhouse Coopers,
the NZRFU, the New Zealand government, and countless New Zealand venues.
In Melbourne, Al has performed a 6-month residency at the Prahran Hotel
alongside regular spots at Arcadia, Mt Erica Hotel, Father O’Flanagans, High
Society and Punt on Punt. He also performs with renowned Australian band The
Baker Boys, and he even joined Australian country music icon James Blundell on
stage at The 2010 Apollo Bay Music Festival.
Al’s repertoire features over 700 popular songs from the last 60 years,
including The Beatles, Kings of Leon, David Gray, Van Morrison, Coldplay, Cat
Stevens, Jason Mraz and many more.
He was known as the “human jukebox” around Dunedin venues for his ability to
take requests all night, and his willingness to play 3-4 hours without a break.
It is this commitment to the audience and passion for playing music has kept Al
so in-demand over the past decade.

songs, for all sound and lighting to be taken care of, and for everything to be
done professionally and with a good sense of humour.
